What We Collect

IranWarLive collects the minimum data necessary to operate and improve the platform. We do not sell data, serve advertisements, or share any user information with third parties beyond the services listed below.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 (property ID: G-CS0VEQ5CX8) to collect anonymised usage data: page views, session duration, referral sources, device type, and approximate geographic region (country-level, never city-level). IP addresses are anonymised before storage. We do not use GA4 for remarketing or cross-site tracking.

Infrastructure Logs

Cloudflare Workers processes each HTTP request on the edge. Standard server logs — request URL, response code, and timestamp — may be retained by Cloudflare for up to 30 days under their default configuration. We do not have direct access to individual IP addresses at the application layer.

Telegram Subscription

If you subscribe to @iranwarlive_alerts on Telegram, Telegram processes your subscription data under their own privacy policy. IranWarLive only sees aggregate subscriber counts, not individual identities. We do not store or export subscriber lists.

Cookies & Local Storage

IranWarLive stores one item in browser localStorage: the timestamp of your last visit, used to highlight new events since you were last on the platform. No third-party tracking cookies are set by IranWarLive itself. Google Analytics sets its own first-party cookies (_ga, _gid) per its standard implementation.

What We Do Not Collect

We want to be explicit about the data we deliberately do not collect:

We do not collect your name, email address, or any personally identifying information unless you voluntarily contact us.
We do not log individual IP addresses at the application level.
We do not build user profiles or track individuals across sessions.
We do not use cookies for advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking.
We do not use fingerprinting techniques to identify devices.
We do not collect payment information. Community support via Buy Me a Coffee is processed entirely by their platform.

OSINT Data & Third-Party Sources

All intelligence data displayed on IranWarLive is gathered from publicly available open-source intelligence (OSINT). This includes:

RSS feeds from BBC, New York Times, The Guardian, Reuters (via Google News), and Al Jazeera
Official press releases from CENTCOM, IDF Spokesperson, Pentagon, and government defense ministries
Verified OSINT accounts and conflict monitoring outlets

No private, classified, intercepted, or illegally obtained information is used at any stage of our pipeline. All source URLs are preserved and displayed on the map so users can verify every event at its primary source.

For data subjects: If you believe a piece of information displayed on IranWarLive relates to you personally and you wish to request its removal, please contact us. We will review the request and remove the relevant data if it falls outside the scope of legitimate public interest journalism and OSINT reporting.

Third-Party Services

IranWarLive integrates the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

Google Analytics 4 — Google Privacy Policy
Cloudflare Workers & CDN — Cloudflare Privacy Policy
Google Sheets API — Google Privacy Policy (used as backend database; no user data is written to Sheets)
Google Gemini API — Google Privacy Policy (news article content is sent for AI extraction; no user data is involved)
Telegram — Telegram Privacy Policy (opt-in alerts only)
Buy Me a Coffee — Buy Me a Coffee Privacy Policy (voluntary support; we do not handle payment data)
Google Fonts & CDN assets (JetBrains Mono, Inter, Font Awesome) — standard CDN delivery; no tracking beyond standard CDN logs

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding personal data we hold. Because we collect very limited personal data, most of these rights apply primarily to analytics data held by Google:

Right to access: You can request information about what data we hold about you.
Right to deletion: You can request deletion of analytics data associated with your device by clearing Google Analytics cookies and enabling browser opt-out.
Right to opt out: You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at any time using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by enabling Do Not Track in your browser settings.
GDPR: If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have rights under GDPR. Contact us to exercise any of these rights.
CCPA: If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected and request its deletion.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of IranWarLive after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We do not have a mechanism to notify individual users of updates — we recommend checking this page periodically.
