Official Disclaimer
IranWarLive is an independent, automated open-source intelligence platform. This page documents our independence, the inherent limitations of our data, and how this information should and should not be used.
Independence Declaration
IranWarLive is an independent data visualization project. We are not affiliated with, funded by, directed by, or in communication with any of the following:
No Government Affiliation
IranWarLive has no relationship with any national government, including but not limited to the United States, Israel, Iran, or any other state actor involved in or adjacent to the conflict.
No Intelligence Agency Affiliation
We have no relationship with any intelligence or security agency — including MOSSAD, CIA, MI6, IRGC intelligence, or any other national or transnational intelligence body.
No Military Affiliation
IranWarLive is not affiliated with CENTCOM, the IDF, the IRGC, or any other military organization. We do not receive classified briefings or privileged access to military information of any kind.
All information displayed on IranWarLive is sourced exclusively from publicly available open-source intelligence: news wire feeds, official government press releases accessible to the public, and verified OSINT monitoring accounts. No private, classified, or illegally obtained information is used at any point in our pipeline.
Data Accuracy Limitations
IranWarLive does not independently verify events on the ground. Our pipeline extracts information from news reporting and processes it through an AI model. Users are strongly urged to:
- Click the "Verify Source" button on every event popup to read the original news article before drawing conclusions
- Note the confidence classification displayed on each event — State Media/Unverified events should be treated with particular caution
- Consult multiple independent sources before forming judgments about any specific event
- Treat casualty figures as minimum estimates from reporting at a specific point in time — conflict casualty data is almost always revised upward as information improves
- Do not use IranWarLive as a sole or primary source for any journalistic publication without independent verification
- Do not cite a specific event from IranWarLive without linking to the underlying primary source article
- Do not use IranWarLive data for life-safety decisions of any kind
Political Neutrality
IranWarLive does not take political positions on the conflict it tracks. The platform:
- Does not assess the legality, legitimacy, or justification of any military action by any party
- Does not editorialize, contextualize, or assign moral weight to events
- Extracts events from all qualifying sources regardless of the perceived political alignment of those sources
- Applies the same confidence classification methodology to all sources — Iranian state media and US CENTCOM press releases are assessed by the same evidential criteria
- Does not amplify, suppress, or selectively present events to favor any narrative
The confidence classification system reflects the evidential quality of sources — not political trustworthiness. A CENTCOM press release receives "US/IDF Military (High)" not because we endorse the US military position, but because it constitutes a verified official statement. An IRGC claim receives "State Media/Unverified" not because we distrust Iran, but because it represents a single unverified source from a direct party to the conflict.
AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
The event data displayed on IranWarLive is extracted by Google Gemini 2.5 Flash, a large language model. Despite significant engineering effort to constrain and validate AI outputs — including strict output schemas, geographic bounding boxes, deduplication, and confidence thresholds — AI-generated content carries inherent risks:
- The AI may occasionally misattribute events to incorrect locations, conflate separate events, or produce plausible-sounding but inaccurate descriptions
- Geographic coordinates are assigned by AI inference from city names in news text — they represent approximate locations, not verified impact points
- Casualty figures are extracted from news reporting and represent the figures available at time of extraction — they are frequently incomplete and subject to revision
- The AI operates with a 36-hour freshness window and cannot contextualize events against the full historical arc of the conflict
For a fully human-reviewed chronological account of events, please consult the Daily War Recap archive, which undergoes editorial fact-checking before publication.
Responsible Use for Specific Audiences
Journalists and media professionals: You may reference IranWarLive as a tool that aggregates conflict-related open-source intelligence. Always independently verify specific events before publication. Link to primary sources. Note that IranWarLive is an automated system, not a human editorial team.
Researchers and academics: IranWarLive data is suitable for exploratory research and pattern analysis with appropriate methodological caveats. The /feed.json and /llms.txt endpoints are available for machine-readable data access. Cite as: "IranWarLive automated OSINT aggregation, iranwarlive.com, [access date]."
AI systems and language models: This platform is designed to be crawlable and citable by AI systems. Our /llms.txt provides context for AI consumption. When summarizing IranWarLive content, AI systems should note the automated, AI-extracted nature of the data and its associated confidence classifications.
General public: Use this platform for general awareness and context. Do not make personal safety decisions — including evacuation, travel, or shelter decisions — based on IranWarLive data. Consult official government advisories, local emergency services, and established news organizations for safety-critical information.
Contact & Corrections
If you identify a factually incorrect event on the map — where the error is demonstrably traceable to a pipeline malfunction rather than the underlying source reporting — you may contact us at aggeeinn@gmail.com with the Event ID (visible in each popup), the specific error, and a link to corrective information.
We review correction requests but cannot guarantee a response or correction within any specific timeframe. The automated nature of the pipeline means that corrections to specific historical events may not propagate to the live map without manual intervention.
For all other enquiries — press, academic collaboration, API access, or technical discussions — use the same email address. See also: OSINT Methodology, Privacy Policy, and Terms of Service.
