Iran War Map 2026 — Live US & Israel Strikes, Casualties & Operation Epic Fury

Day 235 · Operation Epic Fury · Real-Time OSINT · Updated Every 2 Hours

What is IranWarLive? The live intelligence tracker for the Iran-Israel-US war 2026 — the largest US military operation in the Middle East since the 2003 invasion of Iraq. We map every verified kinetic event, track casualties from official sources, and monitor the Strait of Hormuz crisis, ceasefire negotiations, and the expanding multi-front conflict in real time. Data updates every two hours from CENTCOM briefings, IDF communiqués, AP, Reuters, and Al Jazeera.

Operation Epic Fury — the war so far: The US and Israel launched surprise strikes on Iran on February 28, 2026, killing Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in the opening hours; his son Mojtaba Khamenei succeeded him. The campaign targeted Iran's nuclear facilities, ballistic missile infrastructure, navy, and command-and-control networks across all 31 provinces, and expanded to proxy fronts in Lebanon, Iraq, and Yemen. Iran has answered with over 90 missile and drone attacks against Israel and strikes on energy infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and the UAE. A Pakistan-brokered track produced the 14-point Islamabad Memorandum on June 17, 2026, reopening the Strait of Hormuz a day later — but the ceasefire broke over shipping on July 7, Trump declared the memorandum "over" on July 8, and Iran declared it void on July 14. Since then the war has run in phases: a summer air campaign that reached Tehran, a month-long pause in US strikes that ended on August 30, a September tanker war around the Strait of Hormuz under a live US blockade of Iranian ports, and an expanding Houthi war on Saudi Arabia, while indirect US-Iran talks continue through Qatar. The full chronology, day by day, is in the War Recap archive.

Current status (Day 234): The US and Iran signed the 14-point Islamabad Memorandum on June 17, 2026; the ceasefire collapsed over shipping on July 7-8, both sides resumed attacks, and the memorandum expired unextended on August 17. As of October 19, 2026 (Day 234) the tracker status is WAR RESUMED. The State Department has widened its Middle East travel advisory, warning that Houthi attacks on Saudi airports and infrastructure could escalate rapidly and that Iran and allied groups may target US interests; a Houthi strike on a Yemeni government army camp killed dozens. Trump says the US could soon finish the job against Iran unless it changes course, though he has pledged no strikes before the November 3 midterms. Iran says its seven-day plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, which remains closed by Iranian declaration, is still on the table. No ceasefire is in force. Full daily brief: Day 234 — October 19, 2026.

What this map tracks: Every verified missile strike, drone attack, air operation, naval engagement, and airspace closure across the full theater — Iran, Israel, Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, the Gulf states, and Diego Garcia. Casualties are tracked separately for military and civilian fatalities, sourced strictly from CENTCOM, IDF, and official health ministries; the Strait of Hormuz and the ground operation each have dedicated live maps. No unverified social media reports are published.

What is Operation Epic Fury?

Operation Epic Fury is the US-Israeli military campaign against Iran launched on February 28, 2026. President Trump ordered the operation following the breakdown of nuclear negotiations. B-2, B-1, and B-52 bombers struck fortified sites across Iran while the IDF carried out decapitation strikes, killing Supreme Leader Khamenei in the opening hours. The campaign has since expanded to include Iranian proxy fronts in Lebanon, Iraq, and Yemen.

How many people have died in the Iran war 2026?

As of the last full cross-source reconciliation on July 20, 2026, deaths across all fronts were estimated at roughly 7,144 to 9,676+, with Iran’s toll ranging from 3,468 (Iranian Foundation of Martyrs) to higher independent estimates and thousands more killed in Lebanon. Since then the Pentagon has raised its count of US service members killed to 21, with 865 wounded (October 2026); at least 19 seafarers have died in attacks on shipping; and Houthi strikes have killed civilians in Saudi Arabia, including at least 13 at Riyadh’s airport on October 10 and at least 18 in that week’s attacks on the airport. Military and civilian casualties are tracked separately by country on the IranWarLive casualties dashboard, sourced from official ministries, CENTCOM and the IDF.

Is the Strait of Hormuz closed in 2026?

The Strait of Hormuz reopened briefly under the June 17 Islamabad memorandum, but as of October 19, 2026 it is closed by Iran’s declaration and policed by the IRGC Navy. The ceasefire collapsed over shipping on July 7-8, and since early September a tanker war has seen Iran strike or claim strikes on merchant ships almost daily, pushing traffic to a two-month low in October, while the US maintains a naval blockade of Iranian ports. Iran offered on September 25 to reopen the strait within seven days if the blockade lifts; Trump rejected the plan, and Iran called the US counter-proposal insufficient on October 11. Iran and Oman have agreed coordinates for designated safe transit routes — a framework, not a reopening. The region’s second chokepoint, the Bab el-Mandeb, is contested in Yemen between the Houthis and Saudi-backed government forces.

Who is running Iran after Khamenei's death?

Mojtaba Khamenei — son of the slain Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei — became Iran’s Supreme Leader after his father was killed in the opening US-Israeli strikes on February 28, 2026. President Masoud Pezeshkian heads the government, Abbas Araghchi is foreign minister, and Mohsen Rezaei is secretary of the Supreme National Security Council. Indirect talks with Washington run mainly through Qatari mediators, with Pakistan, Egypt and Oman also involved.

Is there a ceasefire in the Iran war?

No. There was a signed memorandum, but as of October 19, 2026 (Day 234) no ceasefire or agreement is in force. The June 17 Islamabad memorandum collapsed over shipping on July 7-8 and expired unextended on August 17; a month-long pause in US strikes ended on August 30, and no US strike on Iranian territory has been reported since September 8. During UN General Assembly week Iran submitted a seven-day plan to end the war, which Trump rejected on September 26; Iran called the US counter-proposal insufficient on October 11, though indirect talks through Qatar continue. Trump has pledged no US strikes on Iran before the November 3 midterms, while the Pentagon has told Central Command to prepare to resume major combat and a third US carrier group is heading for the region. This tracker’s status is WAR RESUMED.

What countries are involved in the Iran war 2026?

Primary combatants: the United States, Israel and Iran. Secondary fronts: Hezbollah in Lebanon, where Israeli forces hold a zone in the south; the Houthis in Yemen, now at full-scale war with Saudi-backed government forces and striking Saudi airports and energy sites; and Iran-backed armed groups in Iraq. Countries struck by Iran or its allies during the war include Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, the UAE, Jordan, Oman and Cyprus (UK base), and Iran also targeted Diego Garcia. Saudi Arabia leads a coalition air campaign against the Houthis; the UK has conducted limited defensive operations.

Is Iranian airspace closed?

Iranian airspace has been under sustained restriction since February 28, 2026. Israeli airspace closed in the opening days and has periodically restricted commercial traffic during missile barrages. Lebanon, Iraq, and Jordan have all issued emergency NOTAMs. Current live airspace status for all affected countries is tracked on our Airspace Status map.

What is the Islamabad Memorandum?

The Islamabad Memorandum is the 14-point agreement signed by the United States and Iran on June 17, 2026, brokered through Pakistan with Oman, Qatar and Egypt as co-mediators. It reopened the Strait of Hormuz on June 18 and froze offensive operations. The ceasefire broke over shipping on July 7, 2026; Trump declared the memorandum over on July 8 and Iran declared it void on July 14. As of Day 235 it is defunct, though the mediation channel behind it remains active.
